Mr. Philipo Fahamuel Mrutu
DirectorPhilipo Fahamuel Mrutu is an agribusiness executive and development practitioner with over a decade of experience in agricultural transformation and inclusive innovation. He currently serves as a Board Member of the Agricultural Council of Tanzania (ACT) and is the CEO and Managing Director of Mrutu Agro-Solutions Company Limited, which was named the Africa Agribusiness Company of the Year in 2024.
Dedicated to empowering youth and women, Mrutu founded the Smart Agripreneurship Innovation Centre (SAIC) in Morogoro, focusing on agribusiness incubation and climate-smart agriculture. His leadership extends to several influential roles, including:
- Strategic Governance: Founding Board Member of the Tanzania Pan African Investors Association (TAPAIA) and Chairman of Kilimo na Ujasiriamali SACCOS.
- Technological Innovation: Pioneer of AgriSave, a fintech platform improving input access, and the UZAMAZAO digital market linkage platform.
- Global Advocacy: A SACAU Ambassador and active participant in the United Nations Global Compact, aligning his work with multiple Sustainable Development Goals, including Zero Hunger and Climate Action.
Mrutu holds a B.Sc. in Agricultural Economics and Agribusiness from Sokoine University of Agriculture and has completed advanced leadership programs through Aceli Africa and the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development. He brings a visionary, results-driven approach to the ACT Board – in which he represents the youth, focused on building a resilient and globally competitive agricultural sector.
